Road accident emergency case

“Healthcare revolution India has been waiting for.”

C-spine stabilized with a hard cervical collar, suctioning done for excessive secretions, started on NRBM for low room air saturation...This is the kind of service we used to read about and see in developed countries.

“Faster than any traditional service I've seen”

The paramedics and staff were incredibly professional, carrying out on-the-spot tests (BP, sugar, oxygen levels) and ensuring stabilisation before we even reached the hospital. What stood out the most? Their compassion and integrity. They didn’t just drop us off and leave. They stayed until the doctor arrived, providing a detailed handover of my grandfather’s condition. It’s rare to see such professionalism, speed, and humility combined in emergency services.

“This kind of tech-enabled healthcare support is a game-changer”

I quickly opened the app, placed the request — and in just 8 minutes 2 seconds, a well-equipped ambulance with trained professionals was right outside the hospital. Seamless, fast, and incredibly reliable. In a country where we often struggle to coordinate with local services during emergencies, this kind of tech-enabled healthcare support is a game-changer. This isn’t just about quick delivery anymore. This is about saving lives, building trust, and using technology for true impact.

Within seconds of raising the request on the app, a paramedic called to gather details. In less than 8 minutes, an ambulance arrived—swift, professional, and absolutely free of charge. Moments like these remind me of the true impact of technology—how innovation can become a real lifeline in our communities.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I book the ambulance? You will start seeing the ambulance option at the bottom of the Blinkit app as the service becomes available in your area.

You can book an ambulance in 3 simple steps on the Blinkit app:

  • Select the ambulance option at the bottom of the home page
  • Click on “Request Ambulance”
  • Confirm the pick-up address and book

The ambulance will then be dispatched immediately to the pick-up location. Our expert paramedic will call you immediately after booking confirmation to understand the patient's condition.

You can enter the hospital destination anytime after booking. You may choose any hospital in and around the Gurugram area.

Our ambulances are staffed with an experienced paramedic, a duty assistant, and a driver who are equipped to handle emergencies including roadside accidents and cardiac arrest. The staff has undergone rigorous training under the supervision of Blinkit’s panel of specialized emergency care doctors. We have dedicated emergency doctors stationed at Blinkit Headquarters to provide tele-consultation to paramedics during live cases.

Additionally, our ambulance has the required medical equipment and vital monitoring devices and is fully stocked with medications and oxygen to address a range of emergencies.

The service is currently available in select parts of Gurugram and will be expanded to Delhi NCR in the coming months.

Our ambulance service can address a wide range of emergencies including cardiac arrest, seizure, roadside accident, as well as OPD (Outpatient department) cases.

However, the following cases are currently not supported:

  • Patients requiring ventilator support
  • Infant care (<12 months old)
  • Childbirth and delivery assistance
  • Mortuary Transport

Anyone with the Blinkit app can book an ambulance for a roadside accident patient by confirming their pick up location (subject to availability in that area). The ambulance will arrive and transfer the patient to the nearest hospital or to a hospital chosen by the patient / accompanying person.

Our ambulances are equipped with:

  • Stretcher / Wheelchair
  • Vital-monitoring devices
  • Oxygen
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Suction machine
  • Essential medicine and fluids
No, a doctor is not physically present in the ambulance. However, the paramedic has access to our dedicated emergency doctors for tele-consultation at all times.
The current fleet includes the Force Traveller and Tata Winger. These models have space for three ambulance staff members, one patient, and two accompanying individuals.
If you see the ambulance option in the bottom tab, it means there is an ambulance close to you that should be able to reach you within 10 minutes. However, depending on traffic and road conditions, the actual time may vary slightly and will be communicated before booking.
Once the booking is confirmed, you will receive a call from the paramedic immediately. The paramedic will enquire about the patient's condition and guide you on any actions that need to be taken.
The ambulance will have three staff members: a driver, a paramedic, and a duty assistant who are trained in lifting and moving the patient. However, in certain situations (such as narrow stairs), additional help may be needed.
Two individuals can accompany the patient in the ambulance.
Currently, you can choose any hospital in and around the Gurugram area. A list of suggested hospitals will be displayed, prioritized by proximity to the patient’s location.

The ambulance will wait at the hospital until the patient is transferred.

If the hospital cannot accept the patient, one can select another hospital through the app. The ambulance will continue assisting the patient until they are safely in the care of a hospital.

Yes, the ambulance service can be used to transport patients from a hospital to their home.
This service is currently free.
