Rinse 1 cup of Basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 30 minutes.

In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of ghee on medium flame.

Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add 1 finely chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown.

Add 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.

Add 200 grams of sliced mushrooms and cook until they release water and become soft.

Drain the rice and add it to the pan, gently mixing it with the mushrooms.

Add 2 cups of water, 1 teaspoon of salt, and bring the mixture to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.

Turn off the heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.

Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
