Boil 1 cup of water in a vessel.
Place 2 tablespoons of filter coffee powder in the upper compartment of a filter coffee maker.
Once the water comes to a rolling boil, pour it over the coffee powder in the filter and cover it.
Allow the coffee to brew for about 10-15 minutes until the decoction collects in the bottom compartment.
Heat 1 cup of milk in a saucepan until it is hot but not boiling.
Pour 1/4 cup of the brewed coffee decoction into a tumbler or glass.
Add the hot milk to the tumbler, filling it up to three-quarters of its capacity.
Add sugar to taste, typically 1-2 teaspoons, and mix well.
To froth the coffee, pour it back and forth between the tumbler and another vessel from a height.
Serve the frothy filter coffee immediately in the tumbler.
