In a large bowl, mix 1 cup of cornflour with 3 cups of water until there are no lumps.

Heat a non-stick pan on medium flame and add the cornflour mixture to it.

Add 2 cups of sugar to the pan and keep stirring continuously to avoid any lumps.

Once the mixture starts to thicken, add 1/2 cup of ghee gradually, stirring continuously.

Add a few drops of food coloring (color of your choice) and 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder to the mixture and mix well.

Keep cooking the mixture on a medium flame, adding ghee as needed, until the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan.

Add 1/4 cup of chopped cashews and mix well.

Grease a tray with a little ghee and pour the halwa mixture into it. Spread it evenly with a spatula.

Allow the halwa to cool down and set for about 1-2 hours.

Once set, cut the Karachi Halwa into desired shapes and serve.
