Roast 2 cups of besan (gram flour) on low flame in a heavy-bottomed kadai with 1/2 cup of ghee until it turns golden brown and aromatic, approximately 10-15 minutes.

Grind 1/2 cup of almonds into a fine powder.

Mix the almond powder with the roasted besan in a large mixing bowl.

Add 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder to the besan and almond mixture. Mix well.

Allow the mixture to cool slightly. When it is still warm to the touch, take small portions and shape them into round laddus.

Garnish each laddu with a whole almond on top.

Let the laddus cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
